At BurnCycle, our approach is simple: from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave sweaty, empowered and ready to seize the day, BurnCycle is your experience. 1. How and when do I sign up for a class?
You can sign up for a class by creating an account or logging into your existing account on our website. You must purchase a class or class package in order to reserve a spot in a class. Our schedules are released every other Monday for 2 week intervals, allowing you to sign up 2 weeks in advance.
2. What do I have to bring?
Most importantly, a winning attitude. After that we recommend a water bottle and fitted exercise attire to avoid any loose fabrics get caught in the bikes. If you have padded bike shorts those are great to help your body get used to the bike. They are not required but recommended for new clients. Our bikes require cycling shoes, they are Delta and SPD clip in compatible. It makes for a more effective and safer workout. If you do not have your own shoes they are available to rent at the studio for only $2.
3. How far in advance do I have to cancel my reservation to avoid being charged?
You must cancel a class 6 hours prior to your reserved class time. You can do this by logging into your account or calling the studio. Once you un-reserve your bike, your class will be put back into your account for a future use, not refunded. Same policy applies to monthly unlimited members, if you do not cancel with in the 6 hour time frame a drop in rate will be charged to your account.
4. How does the waitlist work?
If the class is full, we recommend putting yourself on the wait list. you will be notified via email and receive a call from the studio as soon as a bike opens up. If you are signed up for the wait list, we assume you want to take class. If you do not call the studio or cancel online by 5:00PM the night before, you may get added after it is too late to cancel.
5. How many calories can I expect to burn in a single class?
You can burn between 500-800 calories a class depending on your intensity level.
6. What do I do when I get to the studio for the first time?
One of our welcoming staff members will greet you the moment you walk in the door. They will get you checked in for your class, get you proper shoes and give you a personal tour of our facility. We’ll then get you fitted to your bike, show you how to clip in and out and give you a quick run down of what to expect in a class.
7. Are your classes for all levels, or is experience required?
The beauty of indoor cycling is that YOU control the intensity, speed and resistance of your own bike. Allowing you to take the class at your own pace and gauge where you want to be from class to class.
8. Why do you ride by candle light?
We feel the environment you ride in is as important as the workout itself. By lowering the lights we create a non-competitive, pressure-free cardio sanctuary that allows each rider to get in the zone, letting the stress of the day melt away and take each class at comes.
9. Is your studio heated?
Absolutely not! It is kept at a cool 60 degrees. The heat you feel is the work you put in. Sweat is sexy.
10. Where can I park?
Street parking is widely available around the studio even during peak hours. If you’re struggling we suggest looking on 9th Ave OR north of Lovejoy.
11. Do you have showers?
Yes, we have fully equipped locker rooms for both men and women. Towels, blow dryers, and products are provided.
12. Can I take a class if I’m pregnant?
We have many pregnant riders, however we highly recommend you check with your healthcare provider before taking a class. We also suggest pacing yourself in class to prevent any unnecessary strain.
13. Do you have childcare in the studio?
We do not have childcare however we recognize the importance of childcare in your daily routines and are happy to recommend WeVillage for drop-in childcare. They are located just a few blocks away.
14. Is there an age requirement?
You must be 16 years or older to take a BurnCycle class. If you are under 18 years or older you need parental consent.
15. What is an Afterburn?
We work with our neighbors GreenLeaf Juice pressery to provide FRESH nutritious juices to refuel your body after one of our classes. Simply place your order upon check in and an ice cold fresh squeezed juice of your choice will be waiting for you after class.
